| Project Description | To enforce the reduced speed limit of 50 mph, along the stretch of the motorway between Junction 40 and Junction 41, the South Wales Camera Partnership in agreement with the Welsh Assembly Government had installed safety cameras adjacent to junction 41. Since the installation of the safety camera on the westbound carriageway, problems have been encountered with queuing around junction 41. The scheme has been developed to reduce and alleviate the queuing on this stretch of the motorway, with the removal of the safety camera and the replacement with two speed activated data logging speed signs. The South Wales Trunk Road Agency’s Framework Contractor, Cemex undertook the construction of the scheme and works commenced in June 2007. The works were completed in June 2007. |
