Over the years problems have been encountered with excessive queues on the M4 Jct 32 Coryton Interchange. Following assessment of the traffic flows and the extent of the queuing at the entries to the gyratory and on the gyratory itself. It has become apparent that the gyratory would benefit from the provision of a MOVA (Microprocessor Optimised Vehicle Actuation) signalization system, to manage the flow of vehicles through the junction by optimising queuing lengths on all the approaches.
The South Wales Trunk Road Agency’s Framework Contractor, Cemex undertook the construction of the scheme and works commenced in March 2007. The works were completed in August 2007. |
