The Role Our Route Stewards Play
Our Route Stewards play a very important role in the day to day upkeep of the network. They are the first point of contact for many problems requiring attention such as;
- Emergency Repairs
- Routine maintenance work
- Emergency incidents
- Defects
- Investigation of Complaints
- Enforcement Issues
Our Route Stewards have probably the most public facing visible role in the Agency. They can be seen out and about on a daily basis undertaking their network management function on the ground.
They have specially marked vehicles and are easily identifiable with specially designed attire.
Their role also involves provision of the out of hours emergency stand by providing all necessary support to ensure the safety of the highway for the user.
