Founded in 1968 and still privately owned, Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd (AGCL) is one of the leading civil engineering contractors in Wales. Our head office is located in Abergavenny, with regional offices in St. Clears, Port Talbot, Machynlleth, Rhayader and Porthmadog. The company employs over 500 people which, combined with our extensive plant fleet, gives us the resources and flexibility to efficiently deliver projects within strict time and budget constraints for the South Wales Trunk Road Agency (SWTRA).
AGCL joined the SWTRA supply chain partnership as a Framework Contractor in April 2006. We fulfil the role of Principal Contractor and contribute to the supply of services to both the Bridges Maintenance Framework (Eastern Area), and Highways Maintenance Framework (Eastern Area). To date we have been involved in the delivery of over 60 schemes ranging from minor structural repairs to major motorway reconstruction involving complex sequencing and traffic management. Our priority when planning all of these schemes has always been to ensure the safety of the travelling public and our workforce, whilst keeping disruption to an absolute minimum. AGCL have the skill base to cover most of SWTRA's needs with our extensive in-house resources, but we also rely on a strong local supply chain for specialist service provision.
